C of Ga "ownership" plates

I have seen small aluminum(?) plates of about 2"x4" size on a number of Cof Ga pieces of equipment through the years. They say C OF GA. RY CO CLASS _______ SERIAL_______ ENGINE_______

I've known them to be put on a tender, wood 4 wheel, and metal 4 wheel flat cars(motor car type). In fact we own a wooden flat that has CLASS P and SERIAL 305 or306. Our CofGa M19 motorcar has no sign of ever sporting one. I've seen no sign of one being on CofGa/CRR&B #2. My questions are, What exactly are they, when were they used, and what equipment were they put on?

Rick, I have one of those plates somewhere in all my junk. To the best of my recollection it came from a gang car that was assigned to Millen, Ga. Hope this helps ...
