Clinchfield Ice Breaker Car (CRR 1013)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ACL and SAL Railroads Historical Society : One Thread

On page 67 of "Clinchfield Country" by Steve King is a photo of CRR 1013 . This was an tunnel ice breaker car that ran before the tri-level open rack. In the winter ice in the tunnels would be cleared by the rack but would damage the cargo. This car appears to have been make in the CRR shops to protect the car on the open racks. Question: Does anyone have other photos or plans for this car. I want to build a model of it and I want it to be as close as possible to the prototype dimensions. Thank you very much for your prompt response(s).

I have a slide of this car taken in Erwin, plus one of the others. Let me know and I'll get you a copy. WM
