I have several frames and would like to color the mat board for use with my own hand colored B&W prints. Has anyone tried this? Most are white now. I am thinking of spray painting or some other paint. Thanks

I tried it. Spray painting a white mat with flat black spray. The result: trash can. There were areas of uneven sheen. My suggestion is to use the mats white or purchase new ones of a different color.
