Is it ok to use a DS100+ booster set up for auto-reversing as the booster for use with a DS54?

Should be no problem at all. The DS54 does not care what the polarity/phasing of the power input is.

As a suggestion, you might want to think about powering your DS54s from a seperate booster dedicated just to the DS54s. This does not have to be a fullfeature booster, such as autoreversing, ect. A EasyDCC booster will work fine here, and can be bought in Kit for $59.00 or prebuilt and tested for $69.00. And even with a small 2-3 amp transformer can handle up to 200 Tortoise type switch motors.

The advantage here is all the DS54s or any stationary decoders, will have their own Signal/Power source. If a short should happen, and trip out a booster section, the DS54s stay alive. And if the short should happen to be a mis-thrown turnout. Guess what you still have power to throw it to proper alignment.
