It's a pretty picture and I realize you wanted the clear blue hole in the clouds lined up behind the tree but that choice of composition does not appeal to me. Perhaps I would have preferred the blue sky to be above and to the right of the tree or something, but I'm not really sure that would work either.I guess the root of the problem is that the whole cloudscape and tree just merge together to my eye somehow. I have no idea how to get more of a sense of depth in this type of picture but that's what it seems to need.

I think it this works better if the tree is a black silohette(SP?). It's really not about the clearing in the sky but about the tree and the sky.
