I am going to begin a project in digital libraries as a part of my TA'ship. When I received this new assignment, my first thought was, "What IS a digital library, anyway?" By coincidence, the three articles that I read for our seminar this week did a good job in clearing up that question. I thought I'd recommened them in case you guys are also unsure of the definition, and in case you didn't read these three. The best definition is in the chapter by Bishop and Star. The short articles by Lesk and Lynch, however, are also helpful in introducing some interesting problems in the area of digital libraries and the Internet.
