Looking for Museum with Historical Info re San Francisco

greenspun.com : LUSENET : San Francisco History : One Thread

Please recommend a museum that has historical information regarding the City of San Francisco - from early settlers to construction to architecture. I will be visiting 10/18-21-98. Thanks.

City Museum of San Francisco has a marvelous website you should visit before your visit to town. The museum displays themselves, while interesting, are modest. If I were you, I'd pick up a copy of "Historic San Francisco" by Rand Richards, also before you go. It lists all the historic sights and museums, arranged by historical era. That way you can zero in on what's of particular interest to you. Have a great visit!
