DEAR NANCY:

here is a brief resumee of Fenelon's life: Francois de Salignac de Lamoth Fenelon. born 1651. Studied at Plessis college and at the S. Sulpice Seminary. Directed in Paris the work NOUVELLES CATHOLIQUES for young women converted from Protestantism. by suggestion of Bossuet he wrote a refutation to Malebranche's system, and also TRAITE DU MINISTERE DU PASTEUR, TRAITE DE L'EDUCATION DES JEUNES FILLES. Because of this last book he was named teacher and guide of Louis XIV's grand children. he defended some maxims of Quietism. later he retracted and died on January 7, 1715.

hoping this will be of help to you
