Music performance psychology

Hello Sports Psychologists! I am intrigued by the field of performance psychology, particularly music performance psychology and I would like to find out more information on the topic. Are any of you aware of psychologists who specialize in this area? Have any of you read anything pertaining to this field? Are there any grad programs in this specialty? The reason I am writing this on the sports psychology page is that the methodologies of this field seem to be similar to those that would be used for non-athlete performers. Thanks so much for your help!

E-mail me (steveed@okway.okstate.edu) or call me (405-744-7476) and we can discuss this more.

Short answer: Dr. Keith Henschen at the University of Utah teaches a sport psychology class for athletes and performers (theater, dance, music). Contact him if you like (801-581-7772) or (henschen@deans.health.utah.edu). Good luck!
