The Santa Fe Y2K Community Preparadness group met at the Unitarian Church on Monday Nov.16. The group viewed a video tape of many Y2K specialists speaking about the problem taped on CSPAN. The mayor is putting together a y2k Summit of all significant parties needed to assess Santa Fe City's infrastructure preparadness on Friday, December 11th. This Summit is not open to the public but it will hopefully be video taped for the public to see. The community outreach and education committee is one of the strongest at this time and is working very hard to get the word out to all of Santa Fe via TV, radio, newspaper,setting up a web page, having the speakers group speak to churches, businesses, organizations, and by organizing neighborhoods, etc... There are many other committees also meeting in the next 2 weeks. I'll keep you posted on when and where the next general meeting is being held.

Santa Fe will be having a large community meeting on Monday, January 11th, 1999 at 7:00 pm at Santa Fe Community College in the Jemez room.

Santa Fe will be hosting a speaker from the Cassandra Project on Friday January 29th, 1999 at 7:00pm at Capital High School. At the same location a Y2K Information Fair will be held the next day Saturday Jan. 30th. There will be booths and workshops happening at morning and afternoon sessions.
