Navy KM

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Department of the Navy Knowledge Management : One Thread

I am an Army officer assigned to the USMC's C2 Systems School. I have read both of Davenport's books on KM. I am interested in KM as a possible 'info management of the future'. This school may consider providing all our commo officers an intro class on this topic, so I am trying to round up sources of info in DoD.

Are the sites and programs mentioned here all the Navy has on this topic?

Not to be partisan, but check out the 'Army Knowledge' link on the Army homepage. Also, a lot of stuff at DARPA and DISA (BPR), Thanks for your initiative.

You might check the Knowledge Management Consortium Int'l, an association of professional KMers, at KM.org. KMCI offers certification programs in KM and some of its leading trainers could help structure a meaningful course for your school. Most major cities have chapters, Washington DC (GWA) being the first. Meetings are second Tuesday each month, Sep - June. I'm President of GWA Chapter. Call with questions or email after checking KM.org (Chapters. 703/883-8815
