Is this disinformation Mr. Moore?

-- Dunno (anon@priv.org), December 07, 1998.

No, I'm sorry to say it is not disinformation. I cannot, for obvious reasons, just tell you who my client is...now, can I????? I can't tell you, either, which institution's computers locked me out...due to upgrading for y2k. I am not a computer whiz, I was simply telling you what has happened to me personally in the last 2 months. And I'm yelling today because it was this afternoon when I had problems getting to my longtime 13 yr client via modem. When I called them on the phone...after a hair ripping session with their "consultants" that lasted over a month...they finally admitted what the problem has been all along...they also do not have the money it takes to just redo all of their systems. I am very sad as they used to be my number one client. It would have been devasting to my company at one time ....but we survivied this one...I think my other clients will fare better.. One down..only 5 left to go....

Hey MDM,

As a consultant myself I can fully identify with the worry about watching the dominos you depend upon fall. At this time I can say this hasn't happened to me yet but I know it will. My largest client has a president that thinks y2k is all hype. This client is fully dependent upon technology and represents worldwide corporations that are technologically driven. Many of these clients are well known, huge international corporations on the cutting edge of technology.

Regading a spelll chequer and grmarical formats and stuff, I dont' really pay any attencion to it becuase of my years in advertising I understand and am so used to having some profesional proofreaders do it for me and since where all posting "live" on this forum typos and grammaar problmes are bound to happen/. Whew.

Whew cares? We all just tend to write like we talk and I'm totally comfortable with that.

We don't need no stinkin' spell chequer : )

This site also could also use a veracity checker.

Michael: Well said. I'm a fast typist and sometimes my brain gets ahead of my fingers. We all know the jist of what everyone is talking about and I think in an informal atmosphere as this, spelling and grammar isn't going to account for anything. It's the message of information that matters to me.

Thanks guys,

I feel alot better now...I won't worry any more abt the mistakes...:) but I thought we had a school teacher here proofing things...:) .....and yes, I am worried about my clients...they don't seem to have a clue. I keep asking and they keep saying." saywhat? what are you talking about????" That's scarey!!!!

Thats an interesting point, first time I've heard it, companies not being able to afford y2k fixes or new compliant systems. BTW "We don't need no stinkin' badges."

What film did this come from, I can visualise the scene.

Richard-

Film: "Treasure of the Sierra Madre" with Humphrey Bogart.

Also from Blazing Saddles, with Slim "well raise my rent!" Pickens.

...close your freakin' tags!

So now we have to deal with the Tag Police on top of trolls?

Look at the source code Dothead. The blockquote error seems to have started on it's own through no fault of anyone. I've noticed this forum has a few other quirky problems also.

uh..too bad I can't take back my post *blinking innocently*. Seems anon@priv.org attempted to enter a hotlink to chittums at first. Oops. Sorry.

(you're still a Dothead ;) )
