Vanity Fair Article

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Hello All, I have just read the most imformative article on Y2K to date. This feature article is in the January 1999 edition of Vanity Fair magazine. It is a must read immediately type article. Run copies to give to friends and family members over the holidays. If they don't get it now, they will after reading this well researched and imformative composition written by Robert Sam Anson. It explains how this time bomb was created, and why it is being ignored.

Hi Mike! I just bought a copy of the mag tonight at B. Dalton's in the Mall...I mentioned to the clerk that he should read it, as it has a very good article about the Y2k computer problem. He said "What's that, a new virus? Maybe I'll get a" Oh, boy, It's going to be a long road through '99. Now if I can just convince my SUW (still uncertain wife..) maybe we'll have a chance. \/\/illis in OKC, OK 12/12/98

Anyone have a copy they could send (in text or some other format?) of this article. I don't get Vanity Fair and finding it up here in the boonies can be a bit of a chore! LOL I checked online, can't find any articles just a sparse web site. Thanks in advance, Bobbi Check out the newly revamped Y2k information site! http://www.buzzbyte.com/

read it this evening as well...good article...comment from a lady friend (whom I conned into buying the magazine for me...) "so now the bimbos are gonna get it?"

scary thought, that - ever stop to think that bimbos and such who read vanity fair have the money and time to do all the stuff that the rest of us can't?

FLASH FORWARD: It's 2008 and the new president's first name is Buffy - and her favorite past time is knocking down targets with her AR- 10T...

Bobbi, I searched on Conde-Nast's website and their Vanity Fair sub- set. I searched for anything written by Robert Sam Anson trying to get clues to his e-mail address. Searched the standard places for that too. Nada.

I think this one is a "typing" job for some motivated person. I really want some of my e-mail friends to see it. If anyone has ideas on finding Robert, please post 'em. (Trying to save on long-distance phone calls).

Just finished reading the Vanity Fair article. Amazing! This is perhaps the best researched and written summary of Y2K that we could have hoped for.

And to find it in Vanity Fair, of all places.

Rick T: What was your take on this article?
