FT-1 Remote battery and shutter release

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Konica 35mm SLRs : One Thread

I just purchased an FT-1 and instead of the normal battery compartment it came with an attachment thar has 2 wires coming out of a 5 pin plug one wire goes to the battery compartment and the other goes to the shutter release. It seemes like it is a remote power and shutter release. Does anyone know what this is and where I can get the other parts to complete the unit?

Thanks, Bill

FT-1 remote battery and shutter release

Bill: I have something similar but also don't know its purpose. I bought two FT-1 bodies at a camera show from a guy that buys from US goverment surplus. Both had their body flanges removed and a hole was drilled in the battery compartment of each. A thin wire ran from the hole in the battery compartment to the control button of electronic cable release. The guy wanted $20 for both bodies so I bought them. I put flanges on both and replaced the battery compartments - both then worked as normal. Never did figure it out.
