An International Document on Nuclear Plant Safety and Y2K

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Electric Utilities and Y2K : One Thread

This is the document we've been looking for. Great overview of Nukes Y2K potential problems - and includes a few examples of British program failures. http://www.iaea.org/ns/nusafe/y2000/uky2ksta.htm "The Millennium Bug and Nuclear Safety" Mr. L.G. Williams, Director fo Nuclear Safety Directorate and Chief Inspector of HM Nuclear Installations Inspectorate (How do you figure he gets all that title on his business card?)

Thanks Meg. The frame version of the site at http://www.iaea.org/ns/nusafe/y2000/y2kframe.htm also has an excellent draft document "Guidance for the Assessment and Remediation of the Year 2000 Problem to Maintain the safety of Nuclear Installations" that is worth reviewing for a comparison to the NEI/NUSMG 97-07 "Nuclear Utility Year 2000 Readiness" the US has.
