Using range indicator/DOF calculator on Graflex Super Graphic

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Bulletin Board for Medium and Large Format Photography : One Thread

I recently bought a Super Graphic, and I need help to figure out how to use the range indicator/DOF calculator. (At least I presume that it is a DOF calculator, based on the f-stop markings)

The lens is 135mm, and it has a matching cam. I tested the range indicator, and it seems to be accurate.

So: How do the lines between the distance marks and the lens length/f-stop dial correspond? Thanks.

It is a combined range indicator and flash guidenumber calculator. You set the flash guidenumber in the window using the rotating wheel, and the pointer then gives both distance and required f-stop.

It requires a different cam with each lens; new cams are available from Midwest Camera.
