Can any one provide information on where and in what service the five FM H15-44s were regularly assigned. Any information on these units will be helpful.

These engines were assigned to the Macon-Athens (Monticello Branch). I have a switch list, dated 9-28-62 that has scrawled on it "Eng 103 broke down. Could not handle". Thes engines were used to pull the Georgia Bulldog football excursions.

The F.M. road units were definitely relegated to branchline status early on, probably due to their inability to MU with other units (EMD or Alco). I have a slide shot by Shelby Lowe showing a pair on the Cedartown section of the Griffin/Chattanooga line. I also ran across some neat movie footage of #101 working the Monticello branch. These included some neat cab shots taken over the engineer's shoulder (yes, the engine was in blue/gray paint).

Riley is correct. R.D. Sharpless took a picture (now in the collection of F.E. Ardrey) of No. 103 between Ft. Valley and Marshallville, GA.

I recall these units being used as single units on the Macon-Americus local prior to the SR takeover. Have also seen photos of the units in multiple on the Macon-Athens line.
