Dreams

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Aeon Flux : One Thread

I've heard some rumors that several or all of the Aeon episodes came from Peter's dreams. Is that true and what's up with that? :-) I can definatly believe that most of the episodes came from dreams.......that's what makes Aeon so facinating....you feel like you're in a dream.

He's said that several key scenes, especially in the shorts I think, came direcly from dreams, but were often too sexual, so they had to be toned down. Among them is the elevator scene in the first series of shorts. Chung also alluded to the use of drugs during parts of the creative process... that would explain a lot :)

Oh, also dream inspired was the architecture and visual setting of the first season. That first season always seemed to me to be the most dreamlike... Along with "The Purge" and all of second season as well.

I am the sailor-suited fighter for love and justice, Sailormoon! In place of the moon, I'll punish you!

ahem

Anyway, Last Time for Everything is also dreamlike, in a way. It didn't seem to be happening in the real world, but a strange facsimile of reality. A lot like the shorts.

Mat-

Sailormoon is one word. Not two. Trust me on this one.

That's my standard greeting. Don't worry, I won't put you through it again. :-)

I would definitly say that some sequences of the third season feel dreamlike and surreal (well more surreal that normal, at least as normal as Aeon's world gets!)
