Reformation of Prayer Into Outward Healing Meditations

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread

IMHO - traditional prayer will not prevent the Tribulation. I would like the Catholic Church to consider outward healing meditations - a world prayer that would, hopefully, tap the collective human conscience and heal the Unholy Trinity (Satan; "Anitchrist" as Son of Satan and The False Prophet (anti-Pope). i just feel that prayer is fine in purpose but the approach; the method needs to change

Philip: I agree with you. Catholic church, in my opinion, requires transformation. I personally practice medidation and of course this gets in touch with my inner self, which is God, whom I am a part of. I hope we could do something about this. Thanks for trying.

I may be incorrect in the following but is not the word reflection the same as meditation? I think of The Imitation Of Christ by Thomas A Kempis as a written meditation. +peace+

Gloria, if your inner self is God, what happened to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ?

There are many ways to pray. The Our Father gives us an example of may typre of prayer. Your statement "tap the collective human conscience and heal..." Sounds to me like you are saying that it is by human power that healing is accomplished. Far from it! It is by God's power that prayers are answered and healing takes place. The methods of prayer in Christian practice range from offering of actions in life (simple) to total contemplation , a union with God!

"I personally practice medidation and of course this gets in touch with my inner self, which is God, whom I am a part of." We are not part of God, God offers to be part of us! God is complete and total in Himself. He offers to share His life with us. It is in Baptism that we receive this Life of God in the form of the Holy Spirit. To reflect on this indwelling of God in our Soul and to unite ourselves with Him and His will is the purpose of prayer.

Besides the OUR FAHTER, which Br. Rich rightly points out, let's remember that the PSALMS are magnificent prayers, inspired by the Holy Spirit. I don4t think any prayer invented by a man or woman, no matter how beautiful and deep it may be, will surpass those inspired by God. Add to the Psalms other extraordinary prayers we find in the Bible: Mary's prayer: My soul doth magnify the Lord.. and Zacharias' Blessed be the Lord, God of Israel... and Simon's prayer with the Infant child in his arms... and so many others.
