Costa Rica Trip Type of camera???

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Large format photography : One Thread

Wife amd I are traveling to Costa Rica on a "tour" trip. ? should I consider taking the Horseman/Tripod/lenes / B&W film or just the Nikon/Lenses/Color?? As it's a tour trip I don't want to step on anyones temporal toes. George

Tour trips that I've been on don't allow time for a considered approach implied by the use of a tripod and large format.

In fact i wouldn't even mess with the nikon package for a tour, get you a little hexar or t4 or the like to keep in your pocket, the t4 is splash-proof, 149 bucks and you won't cry your eyes out when it gets lost or stolen.

I would take some kind of tripod-like device, even if you do take a small format camera. Much of what you see probably will be under a dark tree canopy in the jungles and cloud forest. A water-resistant camera would be a good idea too since it rains a lot.
