Konica Helicoid AR?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Konica 35mm SLRs : One Thread

I recently saw this advertised for sale. Does anyone know if Konica ever made a helicoid? Or would this be a third-party accessory? I can't find a helicoid listed in any of the old Konica promotional brochures, but maybe I just don't have the right brochure. Thanks.

Helicoid

There is a shop in Copenhagen who has one too offered at the equivalent of almost $150 which is why it just sits there in the window. I hope you can get one more reasonably priced. It is Konica OK and is meant for the short mount 104 mm macro which has no focussing mechanism of its own relying either on bellows or on the helicoid. I would like the 104 mm/helicoid combination but I have never seen a 104 mm for sale (and I would not pay $150 for the helicoid).

too expensive for me, too

Thanks for your reply, Peter. I agree - it would be nice to own the helicoid and the "long" macro, but not at that price! I was just curious, because I didn't know Konica ever produced the helicoid.

Konica Helicoid

HelloPeter: Just saw this message a bit late. Do you reallly mean 104mm??? Konica did have a non-focussing mount 105mm macro. I have one and like it greatly except for the nuisance of having to use a bellows. Occasionally they show up on the E-Bay on-line auction. Are you familiar with that?. I don't remember the average price, but I believe it approaches $200. Can you tell me that name and address of the shop in Copenhagen in which you saw the helicoid? If it's still available I might get up enough enthusiasm to try to obtain it. Thanks
