Here is a really neat page on Hawaii's turtles called Endangered Species: Honu, the Hawaiian Sea Turtle (http://www.islander- magazine.com/honu.html).

We have green sea turtles, and other varieties including our own native species. All turtles are protected under law from any capture or kill. Violators that are caught are fined, face jail-time, and usually are put on the local news. Populations though, are on the rise and restrictions may be altered for to some degree.
