Best time to go whalewatching?

We heard that Hawaii is a great place to go whalewatching. When would be the best time to see the Humpback whales?

From late November to early May would be your best bet. We've seen them from the lighthouse at Makapuu on Oahu and from the shores of Kalaupapa on Molokai. There are also boat tours you can take to go whalewatching from any of the islands.

May seems to be a good time to see whales off of the coast of Maui. There are several cliffside areas along the side of the road where you can stop and watch the whales surfacing off of the coast below-- beautiful and mesmerizing! Don't forget the binoculars!
