Friday's VHDL tutorial and next Friday's lab

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ece342 : One Thread

Due to the University shutdown, the Friday Jan. 15 VHDL tutorial was cancelled. Next Friday's lab (Lab #1) will go on as scheduled, but since it is fairly simple we will run a half hour version of the VHDL tutorial at the beginning of the lab period, leaving 2.5 hours for the lab proper.

STUDENTS IN THE FRIDAY LAB SECTION WILL BE EXPECTED TO DO THE SAME PREPARATORY WORK AS STUDENTS IN OTHER LAB SECTIONS.

The extra two days available to Friday section students compensates for the missed tutorial. Friday students are encouraged to make use of their classmates who managed to attend the tutorial, and also this discussion group for any questions. We will be checking this group multiple times per day, so read carefully over the VHDL Tutorial notes (which are the same as last year, or can be purchased from the copy centre) and if you have any questions post them here (*before* Friday) and we will make sure you get prompt answers.

As for Altera MAXPLUS+II CDs, a number were distributed during the Tuesday and Wednesday tutorials, so there should be plenty floating around for Friday students. If this is not the case, come and get a CD from me (Robin Grindley). Send me email first, as I move around between different offices. I will also try and get to the first lecture in the week and make CDs available there as well.

The only other issue is lab partner assignments. Please see the next posting for information on this.

Hope everyone had a nice impromptu holiday.

Robin
