Local Electric Company provides info on safe generator use

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Received my electric bill today. Included was the one page monthly consumer rag they include with each bill. Interesting that they devoted the entire front page to tips on how to prevent their linemen from getting fried.

...[we] work hard to make sure electrical outages are infrequent and short-lived. Sometimes, however, there are circumstances beyond our control when the flow of electricity to your home can be cut off, leaving you without power for an extended (my emphasis) period of time. If you use a portable generator...here are some tips on how to operate it safely.

Maybe some DWGI will be able to read between the lines.

Bill, you're missing the point: DWGI's don't WANT to read between the lines. They ignore the obvious facts... so it will be no mean feat for them to ignore the subtle hints given by your electric company.

Folks, forget the DWGI's. At best, they'll just waste your valuable time and depress you. At worst, they'll cause you to slow down or stop your own preparations. They have been warned; their blood is now upon their own heads.

Hey Nabi. You have a tough time saying anything without including a smattering of old testament wrath on someones head. May you eventually find the peace that comes from understanding the new covenant man.

NIgel,

I'm very familiar with the New Covenant, and know the peace that comes from living under it... yet I also believe God when He says that He doesn't change (Mal. 3:6). Apparently you don't understand the new covenant too well, or you wouldn't have been so quick to judge me (Matt. 7:1-5), especially without knowing anything about me.

Bill, Does you electric company have a web page where they perhaps published the hints you are referring to?
