Living in Kailua

greenspun.com : LUSENET : About Hawaii : One Thread

Dear Teri & Roy,

Kailua is my most favorite place on earth. If I ever win the lottery you'll find me living beachfront on Kailua Beach or waterfront on Enchanted Lake where I can kayak out to the ocean.

Have you always lived in Kailua? If not, where did you live before moving to Kailua. Is living there as wonderful as it seems?

Have always live in Kailua except for school. Had my taste of the midwest winters and it definitely made me appreciate Kailua. I used to take a lot for granted, but the winters and culture made me truly realize how great Hawaii is. I know I still take a lot of things for granted, but I try to look at the mountains and sky when stuck in traffic or take the kids to the beach instead of watching tv. Lately, I've really begun to realize how neat it is to live in Hawaii with all it's culture, ethnicities, and weather. To me it is worth the high cost of living.

Actually, we're in Kailua, Oahu and not Kailua-Kona on the Big Island.

oops - I thought you were on Ohau and that it was going to be real easy to visit you. Now I will have to come up with plan B. Do you recommend an inter-island flight between the islands or some type of boat ride?
