I was just interested in knowing any special traditions that you may have. ie: borthdays, weddings, funerals etc.

One special tradition is New Year's celebration. People set off fireworks. It's not just a few, but hundreds of dollars. Now that might not sound like much, but if you multiply it by the number of households and parties....people with reperatory problems have to take special precautions. At that magical midnight so many arials hit the sky (illegal, but still in abundance) and firecrakers go off, that even with our tradewinds, the Oahu is covered in a blanket of smoke in which you can't see more than a short distance in front of you.

Baby's first birthday is generally celebrated with a big luau or party.
