Is this to be taken seriously?

This "silver bullet" looks like a glorified bridge...

Evidently it was one of the only products like it to get a U.S. Patent. I looked at the website and didn't seen any description of what systems it installs on. Does anyone know how this works or have the time to look into it?

Y2K SILVER BULLET PATENT ISSUED SILVER BULLET PATENT ISSUED FOR SPEEDY YEAR 2000 SOLUTION

Anone have any comments about it?

This is just a common technique known as 'encapsulation.' It is not a silver bullet - it takes a lot of work.

An older friend of mine was complaining that the US Patent Office will issue a patent on anything now.

... looks like it's for DOS and COBOL ... Hmmm... that would leave out a few languages, not to mention embedded chips.

There was already an existing thread about this article:

IS THIS FOR REAL???

(Reminder to all who want to start a thread: Please look through existing threads to see whether there's already an existing thread about the subject. One thread is easier to wade through than two threads.)
