I have been lurking at this site for the last couple of months. It is the best y2k forum....& I feel like I know you all. Hope this is something you can use in your preperations. I know nothing about computers....can barely use this one..but I do have enough common sense to see what is going on around me & prepare for the worse case senario. It may turn out to be a 4 or 5 but I don't think so.We are preparing for 10. I don't know how anyone with a family could do any less.

Kara, Thanks for the info. I'm a nurse and recently had a case where a woman had a sinus infection that tracked into her brain requiring a craniectomy, twice. For anyone who does not know what a craniectony is, that is an operation where a part of the brain is removed. In her case she had absessed (infection). I won't describe her functioning after her surgeries, it wasn't pretty.

I'm all for natural cures, and mixtures that reduce/minimize illness. If anyone thinks antibiotics are the answer, there have been plenty of reports in the media lately about over use of antibiotics leading to antibiotic resistant bacteria. Antibiotics have their place but only when there is no other choice. Me, I'll take something that tastes lousy if it means better health.

And about the moon. Oldtime gardeners have told me the best time to plant is with the moon, above ground crops just before the full moon, root crops just after the full moon. There are probably some people out there who think the moon is just scenery.
