Is Hawaii always warm? Do you have to wear sweaters and jackets? Has it ever snowed like it did in Bakersfield?

The average day time temperature is 80 degrees with winter months about 78 and summer about 85. Night time temperatures are about 10 degrees less.

After you get acclimated, you definitely need a sweater and jacket, but right off the plane from the cold midwest winter, it's definitely not sweater weather.

Yes, it snows every winter because of the high altitude on Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa.

The lowest temperature recorded in Hawaii was -11 degrees F on Haleakala on Maui and the hottest was 100 degrees in Puna on the Big Island.
