On the 1974 Feast of Corpus Christi in Crakow, Poland, Cardinal Wojtyla gave a stirring and courageous outdoor speech following an "illegal" feastday procession in the communist state. The speech was so stirring that, immediately, the text was typewritten and distributed throughout Poland.
