American Cinematheque is presenting screenings of all of James Cameron's works (except for Pirahna 2) later this week at the Egyptian Theatre in Los Angeles.

Cameron will attend the screening of The Abyss (The Special Edition) and the discussion afterwards, on Wednesday, February 3rd. Titanic will be shown on Saturday, Februrary 6th; Gloria Stewart will attend the discussion afterwards.

If I lived near L.A. I'd definitely go there. I'd be interested in socializing with others attending. So far all the Titanimaniacs I've met have been online, for the most part. Not that there's anything wrong with that...Yadda yadda yadda. Someone shut my mouth.

I *finally* have an opportunity to respond to my question, and update the Q&A site.

It was great being in Hollywood, but I'm also glad to be back home in Vancouver.

The opening night screening was *totally* sold out; apparently, the order-by-phone system wasn't working that well, either, so there was a fairly long line-up of people at the box office buying tickets for the rest of the week's screenings.

I hung around afterwards and got a chance to see James Cameron show up; he took a minute to sign some autographs outside the theatre. He seemed to radiate energy; I stepped back to a safe distance to observe. Suzy Amis was with him, as well, and was very photogenic; they seemed happy, together.

I found out later that Cameron stayed for over an hour after the screening to sign autographs; people even followed him into the mens washroom when he had to take a break!

(I, however, was sound asleep back at my hotel room by then.)

Thomas, interesting. Can you describe the demographics of those attending? Were there many female teenagers, as some media have claimed were the repeat viewers for Titanic?

Compared with the previous nights, there were more older males (i.e. those over 45), what appeared to be married couples, and proportionately few "fanboy" types.
