Looking for GI in Oklahoma City or Norman.greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread |
I'm nearly finished with "Level I" preparation and working hard on "Level II". I'm probably a 7 on the 0-10 scale and my DH is a 2. Makes for interesting argument/conversation. I could use a little support close to home. It seems like most of the posters on this forum are from further east and north of this Okie. I am rapidly reaching y2k saturation and am needing a little debriefing. Thanks for any help. Linda

Newbie, I am from OKC as well. Would love to talk to you, but alas, as you can see from my e-mail, I cannot come public on this forum with my identity at this time. Ya just never know who is looking. If there is some way, give me an e-mail, and I will contact you that way.

I am also in OKC. Same reasons, same problem. Got any ideas?

You may be able to contact some folks through the Cassandra Project (that name is so depressing...) http://www.cassandraproject.org/Also, to get in touch with each other, why not get and post a yahoo or hotmail email address? Then you can contact each other to trade phone numbers and so forth.

Newbie but no dummie is not a misnomer. I am too computer illiterate to know how to form/use/? a hot link. Jon W., since you answered, can you give me some help? Thanks, Linda

Leska-Read through the link you provided but it was TOO confusing. When you asked for a first grade lesson, I thought, no, I need a preschool lesson. Lessons for the newbie with an exponentially negative learning curve as far as computer stuff goes. P.S. I've enjoyed reading your posts. My father is on hospice and I can't tell you how much I appreciate the loving care he gets. I can see the empathy/care through your posts. Thanks-Linda

Linda, eMail me and I'll send you the template. It's actually very easy, and once you use it a lot you'll memorize it and it will just fly out your fingertips :

Leska, Please check your e-mail, as I think I have found the answer. Thanks a bunch!!!!

OKie, OKCs, hope it all works! May you be able to support each other and find much laughter and hot shopping tips and using-this-weird-equipment sharing as you prepare for the Bizarre Unknown. There is much absurdly funny about Y2K, so whistle & giggle while you work ;-Dxxxxxxx xxxxxxx xxxxx

Newbie (Linda), please email to the following account.... field1@atoka.ouhsc.edu. I will check this account later this afternoon, as I created it just to get in touch with you.

cannot_say@this time: I tried your address, my mail was returned. I tried the address that you sent to me through Leska, my mail was returned. Any suggestions? Linda

Newbie, you should have been able to send e-mail to that account. There is a possibility that what I created could not be seen from the outside world. know anything about irc? Maybe we can set up a way to meet there. I hate to publish my true e-mail for reasons that most can understand, and you as well. Let me think about this, and I will figure out a way. PS - I did give Leska my real e-mail address, which she replied to, so I know that works.
