The Italian government marked the 320th day before Y2K by making its first national move to deal with the Millennium Bug, forming an unpaid panel of experts to launch a study. The chairman of the new panel, Ernesto Bettinelli of the University of Padua, told the BBC he will get right on it as soon as he finishes grading midterm papers.

You can buy some high-quality plastic-cased dry ham (including Prosciutto) and sausage from Italy. Visit a deli. I believe these meats will store for at least a year! Their loss; our gain.
