Chris--a thank-you

(Prompted by a venomous attack on Chris earlier.)

Hi, Chris,

Just wanted to thank you for your many good posts. They say you can't teach an old git new tricks, but I've learned quite a bit of very useful information from you; it's really rounded out my knowledge base--and some of it might save my life; it will certainly help me with Y2K. Besides that, you have a delightful sense of humor and often add a much-needed lift to this forum. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's been helped by you and I hope others add their thanks. I know you know today's special flame was from someone whose opinion very few people care about, but still, it was a nasty public attack and I think you deserve a special public thank you in return.

Awww Old Git, I feel all warm and fuzzy ;-) Thanks for the nice words. Coming from you it's special, I've learned a lot from you too :-)

Troll Maria and anyone elses' attacks for that matter don't bother me at all, I'm an 8 year internet veteran and I've had to deal with much worse over the years ;-) T. Maria on the other hand, has some growing up and learning to do, I hate to see what she'd (he?) do if I really WAS flaming her ;-)

blah, blah, blah

chris does nothing but comment on other people's posts, and does it on almost every one too

Chris--

Even though you're a "veteran", just want to tell you I enjoy reading your posts. Interesting and informative Can't agree with your theology :>) but hey, no one's perfect.

As to who's a moron--hmmmmm--people in glass houses just shouldn't throw stones.

"I'm an 8 year internet veteran and I've had to deal with much worse over the years" Should that tell you something?

A veteran, eh? What makes a veteran? That makes you better at surfing than most? Try thinking about what you post.

Dear Chris,

I've followed your posts for a long time because you have had keen insight. You are a deep thinker and you pinched a nerve of truth. When you get hammered for it you must accept it as a compliment.

Thank you for your input on this forum; I have greatly appreciated your thoughts as well as your feelings.

Chris! Yea, it's back up!
Thanks for the eMail, friend. Was going nuts. Even posted sumpin on comp.software.year-2000 to see if *they* could get thru. Naturally, as soon as I do that, this Forum loads. Sheesh!
Chris, just add the brickbats to your trophy shelf ;-)

Love, Ashton & Leska in Cascadia, very relieved the Forum is back up.

Not troll Maria,

That's true - Chris is more of a critic than a contributor - never has any opinions other than to agree or disagree with what someone else has already posted.

I beleive that is what is referred to as a Lurker -worse than a troll.

Did anybody else notice this Forum was down @ 2 hours?

-- Leska (allaha@earthlink.net), February 23, 1999.

Chris. I don't agree with you most of the time but I still enjoy your posts. Keep on.

"z" Yes, some of us just make comments on other people's postings. Usually because we're working our butt off to try and meet our bills and just got home after 10 or 12 hours. If you object to us "lurking", buzz off! It's a free country. (Besides, Kevin, Diane and the others usually beat me to the good stuff.) If you base the worth of other peoples postings by how much "news" they can put on the web, you must be madly in love with Diane (No, Diane. Not meant as a flame) She does keep up a lot better than I and her input is greatly appreciated. I think it requires just as much thought to reply to a posting as it does to originate it. Lobo

Chris,

I greatly appreciate your comments, contributions and humor.

From one FRL fruitcake to another.

Diane

(P.S. Yes, Leska .. it was down. Even PNG commented he couldn't get in. Watched the PBS Frontline Special on Russia and the nuclear problems and now I'm really depressed! *Big Sigh*)

Thanks for the support guys :-) Was just a matter of time that I be targetted on this forum, as most of you great contributors have been also. Shows the pettiness of idiots, no? ;^)

Scarlett and Lobo, your remarks added to my respect I have for you guys. I don't seek to agree and make friends on this forum, I seek to learn.

Lucy, I'm a veteran in that I'm immune to flames (from those I don't respect). Water off a rubber duckie's back :^)
