Things at my office are way too busy right now, so I may not be able to attend either of the California State Senate hearings on y2k this afternoon. But I did stop by the Capitol and pick up the agendas so I could let everyone here know what will be discussed.

The Senate Select Committee on Economic Development, Senate Committee on Energy, Utilities and Communications, and Assembly Committee on Information Technology will have a hearing at 1:30 today in room 4202 of the State Capitol. Just tried repeatedly to listen to the sessions via RealAudio. Getting "server not responding" every time. Laugh? I thought I'd cry.

Sent a MailTo to the Webmaster. His/her address is Dr.Internet@ca.sen.gov. Told "Doc" that I thought this "outage" spoke very poorly of their ability to run systems. Yeah, I know it's most likely just due to traffic volume on the site, but I just couldn't resist a little zinger...
