Pipeline Deliminated Database EDITOR Available?

Does anyone know of a database program that will let you open, edit, and save pipeline deliminated files? Excel will let you open them and change them but it won't let you save as deliminated. I've got a huge database of around 5,400 items and would like a simple way to edit them in a spreadsheet format instead of having to go through the script admin (only doing one at a time) or the DOS editor.

Does anyone have any ideas on this issue or know of a program that will let me save as pipeline deliminated? Your help would be appreciated!

The way I did a small test database was to save it as a tab delimited text file out of excel, then import it in to word and do a find and replace all tab characters with Pipe characters.

Notepad for Windows will work as well - just type out your info, the pipe delimeter is on the keyboard (backslash+shift, right above ENTER). That's how I whipped up a mock database for this script, after I knew where the fields were.

I'm using Lotus Smartsuite. I picked up a 96 version cheap ($6.00). It can import from various formats and will export to pipe. The only problem is it puts quotes around each field. I then strip the quotes out with wordpad. Hope it helps.
