DV Decks w/Firewire and SDI?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Editing DV Films : One Thread

Does anyone know of a DV deck that has Firewire and SDI capabilities? The Sony DSR-80/85 are the closest to what I want (DVCAM and SMPTE timecode), but no Firewire. Is there a hackers way of making this configuation?

Also, any cheap places to buy DV, Digibeta and Beta tape stock?

Thank you.

The new DSR-2000's have SDI and a IEEE-1394 Option, for an extra $700.00 of course.... They also have a jog shuttle... something missing on DVCAM decks up till this point.

Hi Sorry if you already received this response but I utilize a SONY DSR 70A. Its a DV CAM deck which can record on small or large format DV tapes. Best of all it has a firewire port on the back and SDI ports as well. BUT...you cannot go from the hard drive right to an SX deck (SDI) Record to DV and then turnaround from 70A and dub via SDI on SX. also note...the firewire port on the 70A is a 6-pin which requires a 6 pin on each end of the firewire when connecting to the computer. SX timecode will NOT tranfer through to hard drive via SDI
