Today's Wall St. Journal Has Profile on Koskinengreenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread |
Koskinenbones is profiled in a forgettable piece. It's a human interest story. He's a Yale lawyer making $126,000 a year. Never touched a computer until 5 years ago. Has a lot of experience in working with big groups. Has a good sense of humor. According to the reporter, one of his main duties is "throwing a wet blanket" over anyone who worries too much about y2k. Reporter cites a meeting in which a Federal Agency is called "consistent". Someone mutters from the back row, "Yeah, consistently an F," and the whole room breaks down in uncontrollable laughter.

Har-de-har har. What a swell guy. Gee, gosh, let's get out the fiddles and have some fun while the coals smolder. That Koskinen, he's a regular party animal!

Ever saw this guy on TV? He even looks like a weasel to me. The first tiem I saw him, before the text popped up to identify him, something about him screamed "I am a politician type that doesn't really know squat but I have very strong opinions, baseless though they may be, to express anyway. Hear me and heed my word regardless of the sense (or lack thereof) I make!" I mean, this cretin looks like the sort of guy you'd not play poker with for fear that he'd cheat.OddOne, who apparently doesn't trust Ko-jack... ;-)

Mr. Koskinen was hand-picked for (and also supposedly arm-twisted into) the job by Mr. Clinton. 'Nuff said.

Mr Koskinen learned veracity from His Slickness and morality from the White House spiritual advisor Larry Flint. I say the same thing about him that I say about information system auditors. The first thing you need to do is explain to him how a computer works because he doesn't have the foggiest idea.

Here's an article on the thorough work John Koskinen was doing in January...http://www.wired.com/news/print_version/politics/story/17527.html?wnpg =all

Much as we protest his inaction and spin, it behooves us to watch him ... like sharp-eyed eagles.Rightly or wrongly, he's in a Y2K "high impact" position.
