- Most Japanese are not past denial stage. - Many companies have refused interviews about y2k. - Only 20% of financial sector have contingency plans. Less than 20% of Japanese companies have contingency plans. - Only 6% of 324 major government computer systems have y2k risk management plans. - Japan Information Service Industry estimates shortage of 15,000 computer professionals - even working 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. "It is impossible to grasp how serious the shortage of experts will become throughout the nation." (Note: I thought you said you would be testing the remediated software this year?) - Oil and gas.
