Not envy but old army trucks, a guy from the British Auto Assoc told me that the UK Gov. will requisition old army trucks (used after WWII) if emergency vehicles do not work in y2k, also owners of old vintage fire engines have been asked if their machines can be used if necessary yes really!!

they are taking the chip problem very seriously, no-one knows for certain what will happen, but the feeling is (much to my surprise that they are anticipating problems and taking contingency measures very seriously, hope they are not needed

I forgot to add the AA chap is totally y2k prepared, house in country, self sufficient, has motor caravan, used to travelling long distances living off vast store of canned food etc
