I would suggest a commentary as well.... if not even before a dictionary.

I would like to have a beautiful biblical verses on the 50th wedding aniversary

Dear Yaqoob:

You might try quoting from 1 Corinthians 13 or from the Song of Songs. They talk about love.

Listen to this, Yaqoob:

--Then the Lord God said, ''It is not good that the man is alone; I will make him a helper like himself.''
(Genesis 2: 18) . . . and in verses 21 to 24, The Lord cast the man into a deep sleep, and while he slept, took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. And the rib which the Lord God took from the man He made into a woman, and brought her to him. Then the man said, ''She now is bone of my bone, and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, for from man she has been taken.'' For this reason a man leaves his father and mother, and clings to his wife, and the two become one flesh.

How is a 50th wedding anniversary more holy than knowing the gift God makes each man, when we remember: He *brought her to him* -- ???

Here are some verses to consider, Yaqoob:

[From the book of Sirach, chapters 26, 36, and 40:]

Happy is the husband of a good wife; the number of his days will be doubled.
A loyal wife rejoices her husband, and he will complete his years in peace.
A good wife is a great blessing; she will be granted among the blessings of the man who fears the Lord.
Whether rich or poor, his heart is glad, and at all times his face is cheerful.

A wife's charm delights her husband, and her skill puts fat on his bones.
A silent wife is a gift of the Lord, and there is nothing so precious as a disciplined soul.
A modest wife adds charm to charm, and no balance can weigh the value of a chaste soul.
Like the sun rising in the heights of the Lord, so is the beauty of a good wife in her well-ordered home.

He who acquires a wife gets his best possession, a helper fit for him and a pillar of support.
Where there is no fence, the property will be plundered; and where there is no wife, a man will wander about and sigh.
For who will trust a nimble robber that skips from city to city? So who will trust a man that has no home, and lodges wherever night finds him?

Children and the building of a city establish a man's name, but a blameless wife is accounted better than both.
A friend or a companion never meets one amiss, but a wife with her husband is better than both.

Happy anniversary to your (?) parents.
God bless you
John
