NEWBIE information - the life-span of message threads here (for you Cherrie)greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread |
I went back to review FM's thread on veteran programmers, started 3/8, a VERY LONG thread, and at the end was a nice contribution from Cherrie, dated 3/10. Well, the next day she went back, and hers was still the last post. So she said "Ummm. was it something I said?" Now I feel bad for Cherrie. She probably thinks nobody loves her!Threads are only "hot" for a very short time here these days, a day or 2 at most. As the year counts down, we are sure to get an ever increasing number of new posts. It's almost impossible to keep up with more than a day or two.
So if you have something to add, or if you have a question, look at the RECENT posts first and see if it's already a topic. We are trying to avoid duplicate threads. If you don't see something that "fits" please feel free to "Ask a new question". If you have a good question, or if you contribute some valuable information, believe me, you'll have more answers than you can shake a stick at! <:)=
