i've heard the Grand (or is it Great) Hallel mentioned somewhere.

what is it exactly?

Answers

The GREAT HALLEL is a collection of Psalms comprising Ps 120 - 136.

There is also the LITTLE HALLEL, comprising Ps 113-118. These are sung after the Passover meal, as Jesus did with the apostles after the last Supper : Mt 26,30.

These are all Psalms of praise and thanksgiving , and many start with the word Hallelujah, explaining the name hallel given to them.
