Phantom Forest, St. Marks NWR, Florida. Foliage was blown away by hurricane Opal in 1995. Skeleton of trees serve as their own headstones. Taken on a foggy day with old TL rolli and Tmax 100

Very cool image, Larry! I love the gradation from sharp and contrasty on the bottom to the faded-out tones at the top. The horizontal area of grass at the bottom anchors the image nicely, too.Have I ever said here that I hate white skies? Well, I must have lied, because this works perfectly.

Larry: This is a hard one to critique. I e-mailed you what I thought looked better, but I am not sure. The image has powerful graphics and lines. Two trees to the left IMO weaken its impact and should be eliminated. I also think the image needs to be rotated CCW by 1 degree to make the first black tree (on the RHS) more parallel to the frame. The image is also a little too tall for my taste. I would eliminate a little from the top. Please remember that I really like the image. IMO these changes make it stronger. Thanks for sharing. I must concur with Bahman.

Simply Rad! Spookie too. -I get the image that this is what the whole world would look like if there was a nuclear war. Very emotional. That is the power of B&W. nice image.

Thanks for this unusual, well conceived and well executed image. I can see that Bahman's points could put it right over the top but it's certainly very fine as you have presented it. Excellent!
