Coincidence, albeit an ugly one.

This stuff is getting a little freeky. Timebomb2000 is taking on new connotations. In addition to y2k computer bug we now have y2k meaning "Why To Kosovo?" I think I'll check in to a spa.

Hello!

I am a college student who is trying to figure out just what is going on in our world today. I have been on Spring Break for the last week and I am a little behind on the world news. Wht is this whole deal with kosovo? And why all the talk about WWIII all of the sudden. Could this be nuclear?

Very curious to any comments!

9666 in 1999 before Y2K

Well, since it seems this forum has become very off-topic today, I'll bite. I posted this on the "What do you think of today's events" thread, but I'll repost here because that thread is getting long, long, long.

I posted an earlier thread a couple of days ago about Dannion Brinkley. (You know--the former alleged nasty CIA guy who died three times and says he saw a whole bunch of the future and now works with dying hospice patients--a lot of them former military?)

Here's an excerpt from an interview he did on Earth Changes Television on November 5, 1998.:

(Beginning of excerpt)

ECTV -- It has been about a year since I've had Dannion on the show. Dannion came into town and he spoke a lot about hospice work. But, Dannion also touched base again, out of his book `Saved By the Light,' on many of his predictions that are coming true today (and) so current that one of the documents about the Middle East was signed today. Dannion, let's start with that. You spoke with a lot of passion. Not that you don't always but you had a different flavor about you -- especially about the Middle East.

Touch on that for a few minutes.

DB -- Well, Mitch, once it was a prediction. Now it is the present. Here's what is so amazing to me: what is now my past is not the future, but the present. And, as we watch these things come true, we really take a good look. This is the 98th one... [as listed in "Saved by the Light." -- ED.] It means two things. The world is in transition and we must be very, very much aware of it. The fact that I was given these, the last thing I said in `Saved By the Light' is that we have the power to change them. I think the urgency and difference in my lecture now is that we cannot wait, because if the next three are right we're moving into a period of the `One with the Blue Turban,' the Deputy of God, the Great Islamic Power. I know this person. I have seen them. I know who they are. From the time that piece of paper was signed, they will make their move in 120 days from now. [i.e., sometime in early-to-mid March 99? -- Ed.] I will fight that war no more. My job now is the quality of those who have already fought, to embrace change and to understand it.

ECTV -- Dannion, I like the word that you used. U R G E N C Y. That is it! That's what's coming across now, that sense of urgency. Remember what Winston Churchill once said -- `You know, it's funny about you Americans. You seem to be at your best when things are at their worst.' I think there is some real truth to that but it works in a very positive way in bringing us back together in a community, back to our villages, back to our tribes. Do you sense that happening?

DB -- Oh, absolutely! I think it's about ALL spiritual beings, not just Americans. But, Americans have the ability to love, hope, and dream what they wish. We will rebel! The governments don't frighten us or intimidate us. We don't have an old enough history and lineage for it to bother us. We can meet each other, inspire and change, and every two years we throw the bums out. So, this sense of urgency is to become aware of our spiritual identities, because this country is founded on those things and these principles have to be self-evident, and we mark the time and embrace the world as it comes, and be non-warlike, be more loving."

(End of excerpt. Preparing for flameflowers. Access earlier thread for more to flame about. Or---maybe not. . .)

Uh-oh. Not good. This is a sign of the times. Nukes next?

Thank God there's nothing worth nuking in Sydney.

I can't understand what Mr. Brinkley is talking about. When 'Islam' signs WHAT treaty? Who is the guy in the blue turban? I am obtuse and confused. But while we're bandying about ersatz numerologic prognostications, here's one: 666 x 3 = 1998. "The year in which the very person of the anti-christ will be manifested." It can only be one person: Monica Lewinsky.

LOL, -- Spidey. Good one.

Mr. K***sees it, lol***

A long time ago I watched a show on TV about ancient wonders or some such thing. There was a segment on a huge stone wall in the middle of a jungle somewhere. It was enormous, 50 feet high and miles long. And the remarkable thing about it was that each stone, itself gigantic, perfectly fit with the other stones - there were no gaps in the wall whatsoever. I remember the guy trying to poke a knife blade in between the stones...he couldn't do it.

Early man built that wall, and the way it fits together is still a puzzle today. Now, just think how perfectly God's "wall" fits together, and how puzzling it must be. You should think about that before you go dismissing things like synchronicity and the significance of the number 666.

a: I hope you don't think I was being dismissive. Just havin' some foon. Who is the antichrist? The gospel spells it out: all who deny that Jesus is the Christ, come in the flesh. I've always been intrigued that in the gospel of John (who wrote Revelation), the only chapter to reach 66 verses is...chapter 6! Let the READER be aware. And what is that verse? "From that time many of his disciples went away, and walked no more with him." Why? Jesus had given the Bread of Life discourse. "...whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up on the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed." Jesus repeats it again: "He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him." Jesus states it a THIRD time: " As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by; the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me." Well, as might be expected, many said "this is a hard saying: who can hear it?" Then John 6:66 "many went away." I've been intrigued by the parallelism there, or, if you like, the synchronicity. Thus my devotion to the Eucharist, the Bread of Life.

Ya got it all wrong with Monica, Spidey. (Remember, it was a dark beret, not a blue turban!)

Anyway, I think the document referred to in the Brinkley interview may have been part of the Wye River Agreement, which was signed in October 1998.

Newspaper quote on same: "President Clinton convened meetings with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat at the Wye River Conference Center in Maryland. Extended negotiations produced an interim accord committing the two sides to exchange land and power for concrete steps to secure Israel from political violence."

'Not completely sure, but I thinks that's it. (BTW--that accord remains extremely controversial on both sides)

Now-as far as the "Blue Turban" thing is concerned, the alleged seer Nostradamus wrote that toward the end of the 20th century, a man in a blue turban would wreak great destruction on a "new" city apparently near the 44 parallel, which some have inferred to be New York. He also wrote that "in July of 1999" a great terror would come from the sky.

I'm no expert on any of this, but maybe this explains what Brinkley's talking about. What to believe about that? Who knows?

One thing I DO believe though (and this really makes me angry) it that it seems more wars have been fought in the name of religion (in countries where it's connected to government) than almost anything else!

Thank God our American forefathers had the wisdom to mandate the separation of church and state. We don't have a government-mandated "quota" here that there has to be so many jewish senators, so many christian senators, so many islamic senators, etc., etc., etc.

Hope this answers your question. Not that it answers anything, of course. Who the heck wears a blue turban?

-- just guessin' (idunno@whoknows.com), March 25, 1999.

I think I've got it. The man in the blue turbon is the U.N.(NATO). They wear blue berets. What do you think?

-- Mary (M.Doe@usa.net), March 25, 1999.

By George I think she's got it!

-- a (a@a.a), March 25, 1999.

But. . . didn't Nostradamus say it would be some guy from the Mid-East with a blue turban? (versus a whole bunch of guys wearing blue hats?)

A relative gave me a book on Nostradamus and I found it too depressing to read. It's in the basement somewhere.

Any Nostradamus followers out there? (BTW, I really hate that thing he said about July, 1999.)
