Does anyone have an idea for cooking bread, biscuts ect. without a oven? There is not enough daylight in anchorage in the winter for a solar oven to work. Would really be gratefull for some input.Thanx...Marty

Marty, it's a piece of cake! And, you can make that too. Several ways possible. A Dutch oven in the fireplace or outside fire pit/campfire. Or on top of a wood stove. Even on a backyard propane grill. Flat bread or tortilla's are easiest. Any library will have some examples in the survival books, with specifics of "how to's" Or stroll down to REI or Alaska Moutaineering & Hiking in Spenard and any of the salesmen will talk you through it utilizing a small mountain stove...even pizza is possible! Good luck!

I picked up a Coleman oven at Walmart for less then $40. It is made to use on top of your camping stove and is 10" x 10". Just big enough for a loaf of bread or a pan of biscuts. I plan on using it to bake my grandaughter a birthday cake on Jan. 8.
