Accident Involving Bailey P. Rose in 1944-1948

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Southern Railway : One Thread

My father, Bailey P. Rose, worked for the Southern in the 40s and 50s, out of Ludlow,Ky. Between 1945 and 1948 Dad had an accident where he fell from the top of a rail car and hit his head on a side railing. It was in the newspapers, and I remember seeing a copy of it, even thought I was only 3-5 years old. I am searching for a copy of this incident. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

My gggrandfather worked for Southern Railway in Spencer, NC in 1911 and also had a fatal accident where he was working in the machine shop there, underneath engine wheels suspended by a crane when the crane snapped, dropping the tons of metal down on him. I found his obit detailing this accident in my local newspaper. Check your newspaper microfiche/film on or about the date of his death at your local public library and you should be able to find it, I found this one fairly easily.
