Remember Eisenhower's speech about Indochina where he said we had to be involved because "we need the tin and the tungsten" in that area?

If only we had a President now who could be so honest about the oil reserves in the Bosporus.

Rember Ike's speech about the danger to democracy posed by "the military industrial complex"? Did anyone ever follow up on that little problem? I forget...

Remember when we used to chew our own food instead of having a media cartel chew it for us? Remember when we used to remember? Remember? Those were the days...

I tell my grown sons (who are sharp GIs) that they cannot imagine how the "landscape" has changed in the past 40 years .... and they stare at me blankly because, of course, they can't.

Clearly the military-industrial complex did follow up on Ike's warning.
