"Sweatshop Blues"

This article on Levi Strauss is all about money. If they can take advantage of low wages and minimal labor regulations they will. All companies promote themselves as companies for the people, but in reality they are looking to make a profit for themselves. The bottom line is that they are making and selling a product for money. It's a dog eat dog world out there!!!

I have often wondered what our country would be like if the majority of companies that manufactured goods were located in the U.S. and we looked for the "Made in the U.S." label before we purchased items. If these jobs were available for our own citizens, with decent wages, the unemployment rate could be practically zero. But, as you point out, companies do not seem to have any loyalty to our country and its citizens; increasing profit is what they're after.
